Tristan was often to be found wandering the castle grounds. He hated being cooped up inside, it reminded him too much of boarding school. The hours they could be outside were severely limited and it had always made him restless. Being inside for too long still did have that impact on him. It was only in Potions class that he could actually stay focused for long enough to do the work he had to do. It’s not like I’m even any good at magic. I’ll just focus on potions, that is what i'm actually good at Tristan thought. He felt like potions was the only subject he did well in. He wasn’t great with magic, partly due to lack of confidence, and he couldn’t stay focused in the ‘bookish’ subjects.
He had just been in history of magic before leaving the castle and he was keen to make use of his pent up energy. With enough sugar in his system Tristan could be running around aimlessly for hours. After that he’d simply fall asleep wherever he happened to be. Parks, classrooms and even in a swimming pool, he had come down from his sugar highs in some strange places. He had been warned away from chocolate due to this problem but he still had a weakness for it. Now that he was allowed to go to Hogsmeade, because he was a third year, he was in Honeydukes as much as possible.
Out on the lawns Tristan watched the other people from his class leaving behind him. They hadn’t ran straight out as he had but it seemed that few of them had been that interested by the lesson. He wondered whether or not he could tell just by looking what other students at Hogwarts where muggle-born and which weren’t. He was one of the muggle-born children that believed that anti-muggle propaganda they were all subjected too. It was one reason he had a lack of confidence with spell work, he didn’t think he’d ever be as good as the pure-bloods. Turning around he wasn’t watching where he was going and walked into another student. ”Ow! Sorry didn’t see you” he apologised while rubbing his head.

Emi had been so much happier recently. She wasn't sure if it was just because her mother had not contacted her in a year, her brother, Gavin, and her had been getting along even better like they always had, and her father had sent letters to her often, attached with notes from her other two brothers. After her last class, she ran up to her room to change out of her robes and button-up shirt, to slide on a blue sweater and jeans. She put her hair into a side ponytail to keep all the messy curls from flying everywhere. She was still on a buzz from astronomy. It was her favorite subject. She could tell that she had a big, goofy grin on her face without even looking in the mirror. She ran into a few people she knew well, stopped to talk, and then continued on her way. She met up with Gavin in front of the Ravenclaw common room, and stayed there to talk for quite awhile. The two siblings talked about their weekend plans, maybe sparring with one another, and possibly him having a date. He was always the more prominent of the two of course. Gavin was a seventh year and was not afraid to meet new people. He had been working on Emi for quite awhile to open up now, and had made a slight bit of progress.
She sighed after the two met up and wandered around the castle, with no destination. She basically ended up outside. She put her hands behind her back and interlocked her fingers together. She looked up at the sky and saw the small bit of snowflakes come down on her pale face. She winced everytime a snowflake hit her face. She scrunched her face up before looking back straight so she wouldn't run into anyone. Some kids here seemed to be slightly, scared of her. She hadn't ever told anyone that she was a fighter, she didn't think at least. Could people tell that she was, ya know, pureblood? She looked around out of the corner of her eyes. Groups of people just laughed and talked, not really noticing her. She shook her head and thought she was crazy. It had to be the bright red hair. Her natural color was a dark red basically, but she didn't think that "stood out" enough to her. Not that her ghostly pale skin didn't stand out. It doesn't matter though.
She looked back up at the sky and it seemed that it had stopped snowing. She shrugged then continued walking, but bumped into someone. The boy spoke first, saying sorry. She looked at the boy. "No. Don't worry about it. I was too busy looking up at the sky." She pointed up to the sky. She felt a flake drop down on her hand. She put her hand down and cradled it in the other. She got cold too fast for comfort, but she didn't mind. As long as it snowed, she didn't mind. However, if it was freezing cold out and there was no snow, she was pissy. She went back to the boy. He was around the same size as herself, so she guessed at the most a fourth year. Maybe a third year. "My name is Emi, but most call me Kaisar." Emi Kaisar. Her mother had come up with Emi, while her father came up with Kaisar. Obviously she had to go with Kaisar since she had the big hates for her mother. Maybe if she wasn't such a bad person, she would go by Emi. Oh well. You snooze, you loose.

Tristan was glad that she seemed to be fine with the accident. He knew quite a few older students would have pushed him out of their way and ignored him. She at least was willing to be polite. "Tristan, people call me... Tristan actually" he laughed. He didn’t have a nickname and wasn’t sure he wanted one. He knew that he had been called Triss before but it had never really stuck. He was also worried that a lot of nicknames were negative and he didn’t want something like that attached to him forever.
”I thought most people would be heading inside by now. I thought I was the freak who liked being outside rain or shine” he told her. He did love to be outside no matter what. It was his escape from the stresses of school and social life. He felt a lot freer out in the open air and spent more time outside then inside most days. Even if it meant skipping a class or two to do it... ”I heard there’s a wizard in Norway who can create magic snowflakes that never melt” he told her randomly. He had heard it in a lesson somewhere but couldn’t remember where.
Tristan knew a lot of random facts about the wizarding world. He wasn’t sure whether they were all correct or whether they were made up to embarrass him if he ever repeated them. He had been told a lot of lies. The most memorable was that you can cast spells better when you’re wearing pink underwear. Am I really that gullible? Tristan mentally shuddered as he remembered the day he tried the theory.

The boy seemed to sigh a sigh of relief when she said she was fine with the accident. She looked him over noticing a smaller stature than most boys here. He must have gotten picked on a lot then. She knew how that felt because she got picked on as well. She was smaller than most the people here, well, basically everyone who was fourth year and up. However, she was a fifth year and was depressed to know that she wouldn't probably get much bigger than she was now. She brought her attention back to the boy who called himself Tristan. "Well, it is nice to meet you. Even if you ran into me," she gave a smile, to make sure he knew that she was joking and not trying to be well, mean.
He mentioned that he thought most people would be heading inside by now because of the weather. Kaisar shrugged, "I enjoy the snow. When it sticks to the ground and what not, I love the scenery it makes." Oh no. Photography talk was wanting to come on. The red head absolutely loved to shoot snowing scenes for scrapbooks and what not. Her second favorite was to take pictures of waterfalls or ponds. Sunsets quickly followed behind that. The Tristan boy had continued on, saying there was a wizard in Noraway who could create snowflakes that never melt. She kind of laughed, "Awesome." She was going to like this boy; she could tell. He obviously enjoyed shooting off random facts.
She glanced back up at the sky; the clouds had began to clear out of the sky and she frowned. She looked back down at the boy, "I suppose the weather will be getting less snowy now." She shrugged. She didn't mind because she didn't have her camera on her and it wasn't cold enough yet to stick to anything. "So, what do you enjoy doing around this place?" She figured small talk wouldn't hurt her. She didn't know that many people around here, so she should probably start and this was a good opportunity to.
