I'M THE NEW CANCER •• N E V E R • L O O K E D • B E T T E R •• A N D Y O U C A N ' T S T A N D I T- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - It had been a long day for the fifth year Slytherin male. He had a test in every class today, and only felt confident for about half of them. If he got any bad grades, his father would surely find out and he did not want to go through that again. The last bad grade he had, well, his father sent him a letter and it was very descriptive about what he was going to do if Draco had failed to pass a test. That was his first year here. Guess what the brown-haired boy never did again? You probably guessed it. He walked up to his room in the Slytherin dorms and changed out of the uncomfortable robe. He rolled up his white sleeves and headed back down to the common room with a book in his hand. He slid off his shoes and took his usual spot by the fireplace. He couldn't stop thinking about his classes and those surprise tests. Well, at least he wasn't in the same boat as his sister. The potions teacher had called him in to talk about her with him. She apparently was falling behind quickly in class, but apparently had set up a tutor-session with the best student in class. Draco wasn't sure why the teacher had informed him of this, but he just took in the information and let it process in his mind. He thought about talking to her about it, but it might just set her off or worse, silently. She was more like the "silent but deadly" types of people to him.
Now that he thought about it though, he was kind of over-protective with all his siblings, even Lucius. Lucius and him seemed to, well, butt heads a lot is a nice way of putting it. They were so much alike in personality traits, mostly the hard-headedness is probably what sets them both off with one another. Draco admitted that Lucius was the favorite between the two of them, but he didn't seem to mind too much. He didn't want to be the "golden child" of the Malfoy family. He didn't exactly think that it was a good thing to be really. The Malfoy's had a reputation that he didn't want to carry with him through his whole life, but since he was a man, he couldn't change his last name. Well, he could, but he also liked not being disowned by his own family members. He sighed and put his nose into his book. History of Magic was such a big pain in the ass, but he found it quite interesting. Hell, if he wasn't so dead set on becoming a musician, he'd probably do something with history, or math for that matter.
Draco was a weird one in all of this situation. His father wanted him to become part of the ministry, and was completely oblivious that he had picked up on music, and take his place once he passed. Draco had different plans of course. He'd fallen in love with guitar and writing his own music. He just sighed at that fact that he would never be able to come out with the truth. He could probably tell his mother, but his father would probably pry the information out of her and then still disown him from the Malfoy family. It was a lose-lose situation he had going on. He just continued to lay across the black leathered couch and read his book for class. It was going to be a long night; he could already tell.

Reena was not a happy girl, in fact she was the farthest from being happy. She was insulted and infuriated and on top of that, her father was going to kill her if he found out. No, he would probably torture her first. She would have punched a wall, but she was still smart enough to know that would be just plain stupid. She knew she was not overly smart, but she was not completely stupid. She also did not feel like explaining to the nurse why her hand was broken. "Stupid potions. Honestly, I don't have any plans on working with potions when I'm older so why would I need the darn class." She muttered to herself before glaring at the Slytherin door. Practically hissing out the password, Reena glared at one of the little first years who had stared at her and then run away once she saw him. Once the door opened, Reena practically stormed into the Slytherin common room and was too angry to see her brother in his usual spot by the fire. Once in her room, Reena let out a scream and threw her potions book across the room. "Damn class, completely stupid." Taking off her robe, Reena threw it on her bed and made her way back down to the common room.
Finally noticing her brother, Reena let out a sad sigh and practically jumped on his lap. "Draco! Papa's going to kill me." She practically sobbed into his shoulder. Reena was a tiny thing, only standing at five feet even meaning she was a whole foot shorter than her brother was. Looking up at him, tiny tears in her eyes, she let Draco see how scared she actually was. Looking around the common room, glad to see it was fairly empty minus a few first years that seemed to run off at the sight of a very angry Malfoy. "Papa's going to kill me, I... I am failing potions. So the teacher put me with the best student... he is a muggle born Draco! He is going to kill me when he finds out, and I do not mean just kill me, he is going to torture me and then kill me! I don't know what to do, I have to bring my grade up but if Lucius finds out he's going to tell Dad and then I'm going to die!" She knew she looked like she was being over dramatic, but she was honestly scared of what her father was going to do to her when he found out that she needed tutoring from a muggle born. Of course it had not been a pureblood or a half blood, no it had to be a muggle born. "You might as well just throw me off the Astronomy tower; it would probably feel better than what Dad's going to do when he finds out." Finally having gotten it all out, Reena simply sat on her brother's lap and sobbed quietly into his shoulder. She did not care who saw her now, she was too scared and wanted her brother to tell her it would all work out eventually, even if he did not know it really would. She just wanted her older brother to comfort her.

I'M THE NEW CANCER •• N E V E R • L O O K E D • B E T T E R •• A N D Y O U C A N ' T S T A N D I T- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Draco was deep into his reading, when he heard the very familiar voice of Reena. He looked up and saw Reena basically running at him. She almost fell into his lap, saying something about their father killing her. She leaned on to his shoulder and he was so confused about what was going on. Her tiny body basically put all it's weight on to him, so he had to counter-balance it so he wouldn't fall over or anything. The small girl looked around the room, probably making sure that there wasn't anyone to rat on whatever she was about to say for some reason. "What's wrong?" he asked putting his arm around her to comfort her. He hated seeing Reena so upset like this. To think about it, he didn't think he's ever seen her this upset. Usually it was anger, but no, this was genuine saddness. It was new to him to see her like this, so he wasn't exactly sure what he was in for, but it was his baby sister, so whatever it was, he could handle it. He looked at the first years scurring away; there was the Reena he knew. He tried to hold back a chuckle in this time of need. Even when she was to the point of tears, she could still put fear into the hearts of people; that was his little sister.
She continued on with her story about why their father was going to kill her. She told the story about her failing potions. He tried to look as surprised as he could, with already knowing the rest of the story of course from previously today. She continued on by saying the teacher had put her with the best student in class, which was a muggle born person. She continued on by basically restating the fact that their father was going to kill her. She mentioned Lucius being a tattle tale about it. Draco shook his head, "I'll talk to your teacher about keeping this whole business on the down-low so that no one else, not even Lucius, will find out. I'll be sure to tell your teacher to make sure no one sees you with the muggle-boy." Even though he already told the teacher to make sure of those things. He knew Lucius well and he was the "star child" of the Malfoy family. While their mother enjoyed having a little girl, Lucius always seemed to take the cake. Draco had told the teacher to lock the door that this muggle-boy would be tutoring her in, making sure that no one saw the two walk out of the classroom together, among other things. He knew that this was slightly wrong to do, but he couldn't have their father going and killing off Reena.
Reena could be a little dramatic, but she had a good reason to be this time. She told him to throw her off the Astronomy tower. She then hopped on his lap and cried into his shoulder. He hugged her, with both arms now. After a few minutes though, he kind of pushed her off so she could look at his face, "Everything is going to be in control. I will personally make sure to come get you after every tutoring lesson with this muggle-born. Dad will not hear a word about this. And if something slips to him about your grade, I will tell him that the teacher is talking to you about it and tutoring you himself." He figured that it would be better if Draco had talked to their father than she. Even if she was able to put fear into people's hearts, their father had the same effect, only about twenty times worse. Right now, he was more worried about getting Reena to calm down. He didn't need her freaking out anymore than she was now.

After she had told him everything, Draco told her that he would talk to her teacher, but she just went right on talking and telling him to throw her off the astronomy tower and jumped into his lap. She knew she was being over dramatic, but she also knew that Draco could not blame her for being so because she honestly was terrified of her father. Draco really was the only one to know this. Her father loved her, or at least cared about her, but that did not keep him from not punishing his kids he felt the need to. As Draco hugged her with both arms, Reena finally started to calm down a bit. Draco was her protector, most trusted friend, and favorite brother. Sure, she and Perseus were close, and she and Lucius were all right, no one could ever come between her and Draco. He had always been the one to pay attention to her and actually care about what she had to say, even when she got annoying and always wanted to hang around him and his friends. He supported her in everything she did and she always returned the favor. Draco would always be the first person she went to when she had a problem.
After a few minutes in the hug, Draco pushed her off his lap and made her focus on his face so she could fully understand what he was going to tell her. She listened to his words and realized that he really was going to take care of everything for her. Wiping the tears from her eyes, though new ones always replaced them, Reena nodded her head. "I mean, this kid even had the audacity to try and insult me. You do not know how close I was to just throw everything away and punch him. Papa would not like that, and Mama would probably have a heart attack, but it might be worth it. Especially if I just die anyway." She started to tell him all about what Tristan had said to her in Potions. "He acted like he was all high and mighty just because he could brew a potion better than a pureblood. Honestly, if he had thrown another insult at me I would have hexed him right then or there... maybe even thrown a few punches. I know Papa hates the fact that I tend to think with my fist and not my head, and even more so that I even think of fighting with my fist over my wand, but I cannot always help it. I mean seriously, I was raised with four boys and only one other girl. Sure, Mama and Papa always took me to those parties and Mama and Grand-mere always taught me how to act like a proper pureblooded girl, but growing up with three older brothers always makes a girl tougher compared to a girl with no older brothers or just one who doesn't pay attention to her." Finally wiping all the tears from her eyes, Reena showed her rough and tough side that her brothers and friends only got to see. Her parents only ever saw the "perfect pureblood little girl" side of her.
Turning her thoughts back to Tristan once again, Reena played with her snake necklace and smirked. "Do you think I could get away with hexing the little twerp? I think I could, but then again maybe not. I told him if he messed the potion up and sent me to the hospital wing he'd have four very angry Malfoy men after him and I would be after him as soon as I could get out of there." She knew she could be a bit of a bully, especially to people she felt beneath her, but if you even thought of messing with her, she would show you how stupid it was to even imagine it.
