personality:
[/blockquote]adamina is not one to be underestimated. while she might appear to be fragile and quiet, that's far from the case. mina won't stand for unpleasantness from anyone, whether it's directed at her or someone else. she's not the type to just carry on with what she was doing and pretend she didn't see anything. instead, she'll get involved and try to sort the situation out. this has on several occasions resulted in her being dragged to a professor's office due to her interference escalating into much more than just telling them to back off.
mina is confident in her own abilities and won't pretend to think she's done badly just to make those that do feel better. as far as she's concerned, she shouldn't have to hide being pleased with her results just because those that didn't do as well won't like it. if you achieve something, no matter how small, you should be allowed to be proud of yourself. what she doesn't like is when people rub it others' faces. adamina can get competitive but she won't brag about winning. those that get on the wrong side of her will see her as fierce when in fact, she's a generally nice girl that is brave enough to stand up for what she believes in.

siblings: alexander crawford, twenty, unemployed, muggle-born, close relationship.
others of importance: n/a.
history:
her father edward was born in cardiff to two muggles and the family moved to london when he was three. her mother aiswari was born in chennai, also to two muggles though one of her direct ancestors was a squib. she inherited the gift of magic and attended a small school for witches in sri lanka, returning home to india at the end of each year. after graduating, she moved to london to work as an intern in the ministry of magic after the indian ministry informed her they had no room for more interns. it was at the ministry that she met adamina's father. it was her first day working there and assumed it would be best to use the visitor's entrance. there was a man in the phone box muttering furiously at it, demanding to know why it wouldn't take his money. aiswari told him that muggle money wouldn't work, assuming he was also a wizard attempting to gain access to the ministry, which completely confused him. it was then that she realised he must have been a muggle and simply trying to make a telephone call. after coming up with a cover story that it must have not been working, they agreed to meet for dinner that evening and it all just carried on from there. she has a good relationship with both of her parents but largely due to her fascination with her indian heritage, adamina grew closer to aiswari while her brother alexander grew closer to edward. adamina was initially jealous of her brother when he started to show signs of magical ability. aiswari believes that it is this desire to also show magical traits that prompted adamina to begin showing signs at just seven, a good three years before her brother had. she was once again jealous when he was visited by a hogwarts professor, inviting him to study magic at the school. this was also remedied in due course when she received her own invitation, this time through an owl as there was no need to explain to edward and aiswari a second time about magic, especially as aiswari was a witch herself. upon starting school, adamina took an immediate liking to potions and found herself at the top of the class very quickly. she also had little difficulty in her other classes and on some occasions felt that her classmates were holding her back when in fact she was just too far ahead. the professors weren't surprised to discover that she had nearly been placed in ravenclaw but as her strong desires to learn hadn't completely developed whereas her morals were already very strong, she was placed in hufflepuff instead but it had still been a difficult decision for the sorting hat. she progressed through the years easily and is now in her sixth year.

name/alias: vicky.
experience: four years
how you found us: emma
roleplay sample: as adamina, albeit much older
With the start of the school year already underway, Adamina was making the most of the little free time she had. Many of her waking hours were already spent planning and preparing lessons for the year ahead and her schedule would only fill up once she started setting homework. Mina enjoyed the few spare hours she had and it had been for that reason that she had rejected Katherine's offer to be her deputy or head of Hufflepuff. While the title would have been very nice and something she'd have been very proud of, Adamina just didn't think it practical. The offer had been informal anyway and she wasn't even certain that it had actually been more than just a thought. Either way, there was no way to find out now.
Mina had just finished brewing a potion for her sixth year class tomorrow, or at least she had started and needed to leave it to simmer before she could do anything else. With an hour and a half to burn and no marking to do, she decided to take a walk down to Hogsmeade, stare aimlessly at the Shrieking Shack and then walk back up to Hogwarts to finish off the potion.
After staring for a while and realising that as it no longer shrieked, it was basically just a shack, Adamina decided to head up to the castle a little earlier than she had planned. Rather than get back early and sit around waiting, she figured it would make more sense just to walk slowly. As she passed the Hog's Head, the sound of breaking glass caught her attention. Those inside the pub would most likely have heard nothing at all and she expected that she too would have been ignorant of it had she been walking at her usual pace.
The professor's curiosity got the better of her and she soon found herself walking down the alley that led to the back of the building. Adamina expected that as she'd heard practically nothing after the break that it was probably just a cat knocking over a milk bottle or something equally trivial. Instead, she found the Flying professor sitting on the floor. What baffled her the most was that he wasn't drunk or showing signs of being attacked and so she naturally questioned why he was sitting on his own in an alley behind the Hog's Head. "Michael, isn't it? Are you alright?" she asked, her confusion clear in her voice.
